In a world where coffee tends to dominate and in an already saturated market, we began working with Rubra, multi-award-winning master coffee roasters, in 2009.
Some 12 years on and Rubra Coffee has undergone a brand refresh. With a well-developed and strong brand equity already established throughout the Australian market, we felt it was important to retain the existing design idea – representing each coffee flavour with a distinct character.
The brand refresh allowed us to consider the images used, update the typography and thoughtfully introduce more colour to the overall product range. We also introduced copper and brass toned foils to compliment, strengthen and highlight the brand’s premium core values.
Rubra’s single origin coffees and signature blends are as unique and as individual as the coffee drinker themselves. We therefore turned our attention towards creating a design reflecting the true personalities of each of their beans.
Characters were brought to life portraying the distinct flavour, complexity and taste of their coffee, showcasing Rubra’s signature collection and appealing to coffee lovers throughout Perth, then Australia and now overseas.
Cohesively carrying the design elements across Rubra’s extensive product line up, the colour palette captures the personality of each of their classic and flavoured high graded teas and speciality blends, as well as the rich and intense flavour of Kokolicious – their pure and indulgent drinking chocolate.
